Many Yemenis in Canada have waited years for an immigration decision while their families live through one of the world's most severe humanitarian crises. Yemeni Canadian is an independent, volunteer-led community initiative of Yemeni Canadians and Yemeni nationals living in Canada. The impact in Canadaالأثر في كندا
For Yemeni nationals in Canada, long processing times can mean years of separation from spouses and children who remain in, or near, this crisis. IRCC's own 2026 briefing materials acknowledge growing inventories and long wait times in humanitarian programs, linked to limited space in the Immigration Levels Plan.بالنسبة لليمنيين في كندا، قد يعني طول مدة المعالجة سنوات من الانفصال عن الأزواج والأبناء الذين يعيشون داخل هذه الأزمة أو قريبًا منها. وتقرّ وثائق إحاطة رسمية لوزارة الهجرة (IRCC) لعام 2026 بتزايد الملفات المتراكمة وطول الانتظار في البرامج الإنسانية، وتربط ذلك بمحدودية الأماكن في خطة مستويات الهجرة.
The same materials note that Canada has used public policies to respond to crises affecting nationals of Sudan, Ukraine, Hong Kong and the Americas. Yemenis in Canada are living two crises at once: the humanitarian emergency their families face in Yemen, and years of uncertainty in Canada's immigration system. Many have been separated from spouses and children for years.
